What is a Bridge?

Where a tooth has been lost it can be replaced by using a bridge. This is a replacement porcelain tooth which attaches to the teeth on either side of the gap by way of joined crowns, or where possible and more conservatively, by sticking it to the teeth adjacent to the gap.

Is a Bridge right for you?

When assessing whether a bridge is a suitable option for you, we have to ensure that the potential supporting teeth on either side of the gap are capable of carrying the missing tooth or teeth. Assuming they are well supported, the process is similar to the crown procedure. Moulds are taken and the new porcelain bridgework is constructed by our extremely talented Dental Technician Mr Anthony Spencer.

Whilst the bridge is being made we will normally give you a temporary one for two to three weeks after which we will then cement the new bridge in place.
