How can I keep a healthy mouth?

Dental Hygiene sounds very simple and in many ways it is. However it is the key to a  life long healthy mouth by ensuring your gum health is always under control.

Many people think seeing a hygienist is something to make your teeth look cleaner and less stained. And although polishing and stain removal is a small part of it, the treatment provided by a wonderful hygienists is so much more.

They will ensure your mouth is cleaned thoroughly above and below the gum margin in a gentle yet through manner to remove as many of the harmful bacteria as possible. With this in mind we deliberately give you longer appointments to allow adequate to time to undertake, what is after all the highly challenging job of completely cleaning your mouth.

They will also ensure you are fully aware of your role in the maintenance of your oral health by demonstrating, instructing and guiding you in the correct and sometimes difficult task of brushing your teeth.

All this will help you achieve optimal gum and oral health. By doing so you will continue to help  protect your body from conditions such as Type 2 Diabetes, Heart Disease, Stroke and Alzheimer’s - diseases which are all linked with poor gum health. Research indicates that regular continuing care with dental professional is the best way to achieve and maintain a healthy mouth.

At the end of your appointment you will leave with a fresh smile and feeling reinvigorated about how to look after your teeth.
